Pakistan, Myanmar sign MoU on political consultations to strengthen diplomatic engagement

Islamabad, January 26, 2026: Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Muhammad Ishaq Dar and the Union Minister for Foreign Affairs of Myanmar, Than Swe, on Monday signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on Political Consultations between the Foreign Offices of Pakistan and Myanmar.

The MoU establishes an institutional mechanism to facilitate regular engagement and sustained dialogue on bilateral, regional, and international issues of mutual interest. Officials said the agreement will help further strengthen diplomatic ties and enhance coordination between the two countries.

The signing took place during the official visit of the Myanmar Foreign Minister to Pakistan and reflects the shared commitment of both sides to deepen cooperation through structured and consistent diplomatic interaction.
