Islamabad, January 26, 2026: Sri Lanka’s High Commissioner to Pakistan, Fred Senevirathane, on Monday officially inaugurated the 88th branch of LOLC Micro Finance Ltd. in Bara Kahu, Islamabad, marking a significant milestone for the company.

The new branch also represents the LOLC Group’s entry into Shariah-compliant banking in Pakistan with the launch of “LOLC Islamic,” the company’s first dedicated Islamic microfinance branch in the country.

A part of a leading Sri Lankan financial services group, LOLC Micro Finance Ltd. now operates 78 branches nationwide in Pakistan, reflecting its growing global presence and commitment to inclusive financial development. The organization employs over 1,200 Pakistani nationals, supported by seven Sri Lankan professionals, highlighting its contribution to local employment and capacity building.
