Dubai, October 28,2026: Pakistan captain Shaheen Shah Afridi climbed two places to sixth in the latest ICC Men’s ODI Bowling Rankings, while former skipper Babar Azam dropped to ninth in the batting standings released on Wednesday.

Shaheen’s rise follows his impressive performances in the ongoing home ODI tri-series featuring England and Sri Lanka. The left-arm pacer has claimed eight wickets in four matches, establishing himself as one of Pakistan’s leading performers in the tournament.

However, fellow fast bowlers Haris Rauf and Naseem Shah slipped in the updated rankings. Rauf dropped nine places to 29th, while Naseem fell six spots to 53rd.

Pakistan mystery spinner Abrar Ahmed, who has yet to feature in the tri-series, dropped one place to third in the ODI bowling rankings. Afghanistan’s Rashid Khan retained the top position, while South Africa’s Keshav Maharaj remained second.

Young left-arm spinner Arafat Minhas made significant progress, climbing 15 places to 68th with 435 rating points. He has taken six wickets against England in the ongoing series.

In the batting rankings, Babar Azam slipped two places to ninth after scoring 118 runs in four matches. The right-handed batter has been unable to convert his starts into a substantial innings during the tournament.

Pakistan all-rounder Salman Ali Agha also dropped one place to 13th. After opening the tri-series with a century against Sri Lanka, he managed just 51 runs across his next three appearances.

Wicketkeeper-batter Mohammad Rizwan, who has been left out of Pakistan’s ODI squad, fell eight places to 42nd. Opening batter Fakhar Zaman also dropped two places to 46th following a difficult run with the bat.

Meanwhile, Shadab Khan was among Pakistan’s biggest gainers, surging 32 places to 92nd in the ODI batting rankings after scoring a match-winning century against England.
