Islamabad, January 27, 2026: Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar on Tuesday chaired a meeting to review the availability and pricing of essential commodities across Pakistan.
Expressing satisfaction over the ample stock of key items in all provinces, the DPM/FM directed federal and provincial authorities to maintain close monitoring, particularly with Ramazan approaching, to prevent artificial price hikes or exploitation of consumers by unscrupulous elements.
The meeting was attended by Minister for National Food Security Rana Tanveer Hussain, Special Assistant to the Prime Minister Tariq Bajwa, Chief Secretary Balochistan, Chairman TDAP, officials from the Federal Board of Revenue, the Ministries of National Food Security and Commerce, as well as representatives from provincial food departments.
