Islamabad, January 30, 2026: Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar received Mr. Khalaf Khalafov, Representative of the President of Azerbaijan on Special Assignments, in Islamabad today.
During the meeting, Mr. Khalafov briefed the Deputy Prime Minister on ongoing and forthcoming initiatives under Azerbaijan’s Chairmanship of the Conference on Interaction and Confidence Building Measures in Asia (CICA).
Senator Ishaq Dar reaffirmed Pakistan’s full support for Azerbaijan’s leadership role in CICA and its efforts to promote regional cooperation, stability, and mutual understanding.
The two sides also discussed avenues to further strengthen bilateral cooperation between Pakistan and Azerbaijan, emphasizing the longstanding brotherly ties and shared strategic interests of both countries.
