Lahore, October 28,2024- Punjab government has decided to outsource basic health units across the province, media reported on Monday. According to sources initially Department of Primary and Secondary Health Care will outsource 150 Basic Health Units (BHUs) and among these health units, around 100 health units remain open for routine hours while 50 BHUs would work 24 hours daily.
8 basic health units of Lahore will also be given on contract in the first phase. The Punjab government will pay Rs 5 lakh annually for the maintenance of these health centres.
The Department of Primary Health has sought Rs1.50 billion from Provincial Finance Ministry for the start of first phase of the project.
