Islamabad, February 2, 2026: Syeda Amnah Batool, Focal Person for the Prime Minister’s Youth Programme (PMYP) and Member of the National Assembly, on Monday dismissed the prevailing narrative of despair about Pakistan’s future as “fragile and unfounded,” emphasizing that the true power lies in the laptops now in the hands of the country’s youth.

In a post on social media platform X, Amnah Batool contrasted the “doom and gloom” slogans circulating online with the tangible struggles and achievements of young Pakistanis. She noted that while viral claims of “it’s over for Pakistan” grab attention, they lack substance, whereas the country’s ‘digital natives’ are actively shaping a new national identity through Artificial Intelligence (AI), e-commerce, and other digital platforms.

Highlighting the significance of the Prime Minister’s Laptop Scheme, she stated that laptops are more than electronic devices—they are gateways for talented individuals previously limited by lack of resources. “This laptop is your office, your university, and your creative studio. Through this, the State is sending a clear message: we believe in your potential and we are investing in your dreams,” she said.

Amnah Batool urged the youth to leverage this connectivity to compete with talent in Silicon Valley, London, and Tokyo, rather than spending time in unproductive debates. She noted that freelancers and developers are already bringing valuable foreign exchange into Pakistan, demonstrating that for those who work hard, digital borders no longer exist.

She also clarified that the distribution of laptops is not a matter of political patronage or charity, but is conducted through a transparent, merit-based process. Under the leadership of PMYP Chairman Rana Mashhood Ahmed Khan, the government’s role is to provide the tools; it is now up to the youth to create their own success stories.
