Islamabad, February 3, 2026: Federal Minister for Communications, Abdul Aleem Khan, met with the Canadian High Commissioner to Pakistan, Tariq Ali Khan, today. The meeting focused on strengthening bilateral trade, investment, and cooperation on motorway projects.

During the meeting, the Canadian High Commissioner expressed his country’s interest in enhancing bilateral trade with Pakistan. He mentioned that a Small Business Convention is scheduled to take place in Toronto next month, and Canadian companies are keen to invest in Pakistan, particularly in the livestock, agriculture, and other sectors.

Federal Minister Abdul Aleem Khan highlighted Pakistan’s efforts to boost production across various sectors and promote private sector involvement. The discussion also covered the construction of motorways, including Karachi, Hyderabad, and Sukkur.

The Federal Minister emphasized that the new motorway being linked to Karachi Port presents a unique investment opportunity. The Kharian-Rawalpindi motorway is open for investment and will be expanded to six lanes, while the Mansehra-Gilgit motorway is another key project.
