Islamabad, October 29,2024- The Pakistan Environmental Protection Agency (Pak-EPA) conducted site inspections for two key projects aimed at alleviating traffic congestion: the “Resolving Traffic Congestion at the Intersection Between Serena and Convention Center” and “Resolving Traffic Congestion at 9th Avenue.”
The inspection team, comprising Director Ashique Nawaz, Deputy Director Binyameen, and Scientific Officer Maaz Iqbal, highlighted critical environmental considerations with project proponents. Special attention was given to the tagging and counting of trees affected by the projects. The team also toured the sites to assess current land conditions and inquired about the anticipated impacts on water drainage, along with potential solutions.
In addition, detailed construction plans for overhead bridges, aimed at reducing traffic congestion in these areas, were discussed. Pak-EPA remains committed to ensuring that environmental standards are upheld in infrastructure development for sustainable urban growth.
