Islamabad, February 16, 2026: Thailand and Pakistan have agreed to advance concrete cooperation in the fields of education, science, and technology, with a focus on academic exchange, capacity building, and joint initiatives.

Thailand’s Ambassador to Pakistan, Rongvudhi Virabutr, along with Assistant Professor Dr. Yasmin Sattar, Deputy Dean for Academic Affairs, International Relations and Corporate Communication at the Faculty of Political Science, Prince of Songkla University, held a meeting with Prof. Dr. M. Iqbal Choudhary, Coordinator General of OIC-COMSTECH, at the COMSTECH Secretariat in Islamabad.

During the meeting, the two sides reviewed progress on drafting a memorandum of understanding (MoU) between OIC-COMSTECH and Thai educational institutions. Discussions also focused on proposals for the establishment of, or participation in, a Center of Excellence, as well as expanding internship opportunities for Thai students at OIC-COMSTECH.

Other key areas explored included promoting opportunities for Thai students to pursue studies in science and technology fields in Pakistan, provision of scholarships, and organizing artificial intelligence (AI) training programs for Thai students in Islamabad with the support of OIC-COMSTECH.

Both sides agreed to maintain close coordination with relevant institutions and agencies to ensure the implementation of these initiatives and achieve concrete and sustainable outcomes.
