Islamabad, February 19, 2026: The Foreign Office on Thursday summoned the Afghan Deputy Head of Mission and delivered a strong demarche to the Afghan Taliban regime over the terrorist attack in Bajaur on February 16, 2026, in which 11 Pakistani soldiers were martyred.

Pakistan condemned in the strongest possible terms the vehicle-borne suicide bombing followed by a gun attack on a Pakistan Military and law enforcement agencies’ post. The assault was carried out by Fitna al Khwarij, also known as Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (FAK/TTP).

During the demarche, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs conveyed its grave concern that FAK/TTP, whose entire leadership is based in Afghanistan, continues to operate with impunity from Afghan soil. It was reiterated that Pakistan has repeatedly received assurances from the Afghan Taliban regime in this regard, but regrettably, no visible or concrete actions have followed.

The Afghan side was urged to take immediate, concrete, and verifiable measures against all terrorist groups operating from its territory, including action against their leadership.

Pakistan also categorically informed the Afghan Taliban regime that it reserves the right to respond and eliminate any Khwarij belonging to the FAK/TTP and their affiliates, wherever they may be located, in order to ensure the safety of its soldiers, civilians, and territorial integrity.
