Dar meets Syrian UN Envoy, reaffirms support for stability and territorial integrity of Syria

New York, February 19, 2026: Ambassador Ibrahim Olabi, Permanent Representative of Syria to the United Nations, called on Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar on the sidelines of a high-level briefing of the United Nations Security Council on Palestine.

During the meeting, Senator Dar welcomed recent positive developments aimed at promoting stability andn Syria. He expressed hope that their effective implementation would contribute to lasting peace, unity, and the country’s territorial integrity.

The Deputy Prime Minister reiterated Pakistan’s principled position on respect for international law, sovereignty, and existing agreements, underscoring that violations of international commitments undermine regional stability and must be addressed in accordance with relevant UNSC resolutions.

Ambassador Olabi appreciated Pakistan’s consistent and principled support and briefed Senator Dar on ongoing efforts aimed at stability and national reconciliation in Syria.
