Islamabad, February 19,2026: Trade and economic relations between Uzbekistan and Pakistan have witnessed steady and rapid growth over the past nine years, underpinned by strengthening mutual trust and a deepening strategic partnership between the leadership of the two countries.
Between 2017 and 2025, bilateral trade turnover increased more than twelvefold, reaching USD 445.9 million by the end of 2025. The figures highlight the expanding scope and growing depth of economic cooperation between Tashkent and Islamabad.
In 2025, Uzbekistan’s exports to Pakistan were largely dominated by agricultural products, including dried legumes, nuts, and peanuts, which accounted for nearly 80 percent of total exports. Industrial goods such as yarn and other non-food raw materials also recorded positive growth. Pakistan’s exports to Uzbekistan mainly consisted of food items and chemical industry products, including pharmaceuticals and detergents.
A major boost to bilateral economic engagement came during the state visit of Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev to Pakistan on February 5–6 this year. High-level talks during the visit set an ambitious target of increasing bilateral trade turnover to USD 2 billion in the near future. In addition, a portfolio of trade and investment agreements worth USD 3.5 billion was concluded, covering new projects in industrial cooperation, logistics, agriculture, and energy.
To support expanding trade, economic cooperation, and tourism, Uzbekistan Airways is currently operating regular flights four times a week on the Tashkent–Islamabad and Tashkent–Lahore routes. Additionally, Uzbekistan’s private carrier Centrum Air has announced the launch of direct flights to Lahore starting in April this year.
Authorities and stakeholders from both sides are also actively exploring opportunities to expand cargo transportation and strengthen air freight logistics. The availability of direct flights has significantly improved convenience for exporters, enabling faster and more secure delivery of goods.
Under existing arrangements, Pakistani importers can transport consignments of up to two tons per shipment from Uzbekistan using Uzbekistan Airways’ cargo services. This facilitates swift and competitive access of Uzbek products to the Pakistani market, which has a population exceeding 250 million.
Entrepreneurs seeking further details have been advised to contact the representative office of Uzbekistan Airways in Lahore for cargo transportation and logistics support.
