Islamabad, July 22, 2026: Pakistan and Egypt have agreed to further strengthen bilateral cooperation across a wide range of sectors, including trade, investment, education, information technology and culture, during the 10th Round of Annual Bilateral Consultations (ABC) held virtually.
According to a press release issued by the Foreign Office on Wednesday, the Pakistani delegation was led by Additional Secretary (Middle East) Zahid Hussain, while the Egyptian side was headed by Assistant Foreign Minister for Asian Affairs Ambassador Amr Hamza. Senior officials from both foreign ministries participated in the consultations, including Pakistan’s Ambassador to Egypt Aamir Shouket and Egypt’s Ambassador to Pakistan Ihab Mohamed Abdelhamid Hassan.
The two sides conducted a comprehensive review of bilateral relations and underscored the close coordination between the leadership of Pakistan and Egypt on important regional and international issues, describing it as a key driver of the growing partnership between the two countries.
During the consultations, both delegations reviewed progress under existing bilateral mechanisms and agreed to further diversify cooperation in trade and investment, education, culture, science, information technology and other areas of mutual interest. They also stressed the importance of promoting greater people-to-people exchanges and maintaining the momentum of high-level engagements.
Pakistan and Egypt reaffirmed their commitment to close cooperation and mutual support at multilateral forums, including the United Nations and the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC).
The Foreign Office said the consultations reflected the warm and fraternal relations between the two countries. Expressing satisfaction over the positive trajectory of bilateral ties, both sides agreed to continue regular engagement and hold the next round of the Annual Bilateral Consultations in Cairo on mutually convenient dates.
