Islamabad, February 21,2026: The 14th UAE Ambassador’s Cup Ramadan Football Tournament 2026 commenced in Islamabad on Friday, drawing a large gathering of diplomats, government officials, and football enthusiasts.
The opening ceremony witnessed the presence of the Ambassador of Kuwait, Ambassador of Lebanon, Ambassador of Zimbabwe, and the Deputy Head of Mission of the United States, along with senior Pakistani government officials, members of the diplomatic corps, and representatives of the media.
Organized annually by the Embassy of the United Arab Emirates, the tournament is held during the holy month of Ramadan to promote sportsmanship, cultural exchange, and stronger community engagement. Over the years, the event has become a symbol of unity, bringing together diverse communities in a spirit of friendship and mutual understanding.
A total of 10 teams are participating in this year’s edition, competing in 22 matches throughout the tournament. The competition is expected to showcase high-quality football while further strengthening people-to-people connections among participating nations and communities.
The tournament will continue over the coming days, offering both competitive sporting action and an opportunity to reinforce diplomatic and social ties through the universal language of sport.
