Friedrich Merz’s visit to China termed as positive

Being, February 27,2026: Chinese Trade Ministry spokesperson He Yongqian commented on Friedrich Merz’s visit to the country and termed it a positive one.

According to her, China and Germany have made in-depth exchanges in the economic and commercial areas, achieving positive and tangible results.

During the visit, companies from two countries signed more than ten commercial agreements, covering sectors such as automotive, machinery, energy, logistics and finance.

The Chinese spokesperson said, however, that this year marks the beginning of the implementation of the 15th Five-Year Plan, and China’s continued promotion of high-quality development and expansion of high-level opening will provide plenty of opportunities for Sino-German economic and trade cooperation. The Ministry of Trade will work with Germany to implement the important consensus reached by the leaders of both countries, strengthen dialogue around economic and trade policies, make good use of bilateral cooperation mechanisms and platforms, promote the sound and stable development of economic collaboration and commercial Sino-German and continuously achieving new results.
