Pakistan Armed Forces mark 7th anniversary of Operation Swift Retort

Rawalpindi, February 27, 2026: On the seventh anniversary of Operation Swift Retort, the leadership of Pakistan’s Armed Forces paid tribute to the courage, professionalism, and sacrifices of military personnel who took part in the landmark operation.

In a statement issued by Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), Asim Munir, Field Marshal, NI (M), HJ, Chief of Army Staff (COAS) and Chief of Defence Staff (CDF); Naveed Ashraf, Chief of the Naval Staff; and Zaheer Ahmed Baber Sidhu, Chief of the Air Staff, honored the personnel for their steadfast resolve and operational excellence.

Launched on February 27, 2019, Operation Swift Retort was described as a decisive response to what Pakistan termed India’s unprovoked aggression. The operation demonstrated the Armed Forces’ preparedness and capability, effectively deterring further escalation and restoring strategic balance in the region.

The Field Marshal and Service Chiefs reaffirmed their unwavering commitment to safeguarding Pakistan’s sovereignty and ensuring regional peace. They emphasized that the Armed Forces remain fully vigilant and prepared to counter any threat, while continuing to contribute to global stability and peace efforts.
