Beijing, March 3, 2026: China will steadily expand high-standard opening, promote liberalization and easement of trade and investment, and inject more positive energy and certainty into global development, a spokesperson said on Tuesday.
Liu Jieyi, spokesman of the fourth session of the 14th National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference, China’s leading political advisory body, delivered the statements at a press conference.
Commenting on the launch of special customs operations across the island-wide Hainan Free Trade Port (FTP) last year, he said it was a landmark step in China’s steadfast efforts to expand high-standard opening and promote an open global economy.
The launch of special customs operations across FTP’s island-wide Hainan represents a pioneering exploration of China’s steady expanding institutional open-up and demonstrates the country’s steadfast determination to push forward reform and open-up, he told the press.
“China remains committed to its fundamental national opening policy; its doors to the world will not close, but will open more and more,” Liu said.
