Karachi, March 3, 2026: Veteran Pakistani actor and director Saife Hassan recently shared an amusing behind-the-scenes anecdote involving singer-turned-actor Atif Aslam during the filming of the hit drama Sang e Mah.
Appearing on the Ramzan special episode of Hasna Mana Hai, hosted by Tabish Hashmi, Hassan spoke about the challenges of shooting in remote locations, particularly in Dhadhar, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
He revealed that prior to Aslam’s arrival at the location, the singer’s team had requested a vanity van. However, given the tight production budget and the area’s limited facilities, arranging one proved difficult.
“We couldn’t provide a vanity van in that area, but we converted a cow shed into a dressing room for him,” Hassan said with a smile. “We cleaned it, painted it, carpeted it, and made it comfortable within 24 hours. Atif didn’t even know it was originally a cow shed, and he really enjoyed it.”
Hassan praised Aslam’s humble and cooperative nature, describing him as “down-to-earth and friendly,” and commending his easygoing attitude despite the unusual arrangement. The story highlighted both the production team’s resourcefulness and the collaborative spirit among artists working under challenging circumstances.
Separately, Atif Aslam — one of Pakistan’s most celebrated singers with a massive global fan base — has often been linked to claims that he charges substantial fees for media appearances.
In a recent interview, the singer addressed the speculation, stating that he has reached a stage in his career where he does not feel the need to appear on every show. He added that if someone claims he demands a large amount of money, it likely indicates they are eager to invite him and perhaps want to publicize that fact as well.
Aslam discussed various aspects of his career, personal life, and journey to stardom, offering rare insights into the mindset of one of Pakistan’s most prominent musical icons.
