Islamabad, March 5, 2026: Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar received Jane Marriott, the British High Commission head in Pakistan, at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Thursday.
During the meeting, Senator Ishaq Dar appreciated the Commonwealth’s close engagement with Pakistan but informed the High Commissioner that he would be unable to attend the upcoming Commonwealth Foreign Affairs Ministers Meeting (CFAMM) due to the ongoing regional situation.
On regional developments, he emphasized the urgent need for de-escalation and restraint to safeguard peace and security in the Middle East and the broader region.
