Islamabad, March 11, 2026: Chairman Senate Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani on Wednesday extended warm greetings to Mojtaba Khamenei on assuming the role of Supreme Leader of the Iran.
In his message, Gilani conveyed heartfelt wishes and reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to further strengthening the longstanding fraternal relations between the two neighboring countries.
The Senate chairman said that the Parliament, the Senate, and the people of Pakistan extend their sincere felicitations to Mojtaba Khamenei. He noted that Pakistan and Iran share deep-rooted bonds of faith, culture, history, and language, which provide a strong foundation for expanding bilateral cooperation across various sectors.
Gilani also expressed profound grief and sorrow over the martyrdom of Ali Khamenei and conveyed heartfelt condolences to the leadership and people of Iran on behalf of the Senate of Pakistan.
