Dhaka, March 13,2026: An all-round performance by Maaz Sadaqat powered the Pakistan national cricket team to a commanding 128-run victory over the Bangladesh national cricket team in the rain-affected second ODI of the three-match series at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium on Friday.

Chasing a revised target of 243 in 32 overs under the Duckworth-Lewis method after a rain interruption, Bangladesh were bowled out for 114 in 23.3 overs, collapsing under pressure from Pakistan’s disciplined bowling attack.

Bangladesh had earlier been set a target of 275 in 50 overs but made a shaky start, losing three wickets for just 15 runs inside five overs. Litton Das and Towhid Hridoy attempted to steady the innings, taking the score to 27/3 in 6.3 overs before rain halted play for more than two hours.

After the match resumed, the pair launched a brief counterattack, adding 58 runs off 47 balls before Sadaqat broke the partnership by dismissing Litton Das. The Bangladesh opener top-scored with 41 off 33 deliveries, including four fours and two sixes.

His dismissal triggered a collapse as Bangladesh slipped to 103/8 in 19.4 overs, with Hridoy departing for 28. Haris Rauf then wrapped up the innings to seal a comprehensive victory for Pakistan.

Sadaqat finished with 3/23, sharing the bowling honours with Rauf, who also claimed three wickets. Pakistan captain Shaheen Shah Afridi picked up two wickets, while Mohammad Wasim Jr and Faheem Ashraf took one each.

Earlier, Pakistan posted 274 in 47.3 overs after Bangladesh captain Mehidy Hasan Miraz opted to field first.

Pakistan’s openers Sahibzada Farhan and Maaz Sadaqat provided a blazing start with a 103-run partnership off 77 balls. Sadaqat top-scored with a brilliant 75 off 46 balls, smashing six fours and five sixes before Miraz dismissed him.

Pakistan then lost Farhan and Shamyl Hussain in quick succession to Taskin Ahmed and Nahid Rana respectively, leaving the visitors at 122/3 in 19.3 overs.

Salman Ali Agha and wicketkeeper-batter Mohammad Rizwan then rebuilt the innings with a 109-run stand for the fourth wicket. The partnership ended in bizarre fashion when Agha was run out by Miraz while attempting to return the ball, departing for 64 off 62 deliveries.

Rizwan was dismissed in the same over after scoring 44 off 59 balls, triggering a late collapse as Pakistan lost their last five wickets for 43 runs.

For Bangladesh, Rishad Hossain led the bowling attack with three wickets, while Miraz claimed two. Nahid Rana, Mustafizur Rahman and Taskin Ahmed took one wicket each.
