Islamabad, March 23, 2026: Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar held a telephonic conversation with Iraq’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein on Monday to discuss the evolving regional situation.
According to a statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Pakistan, both leaders expressed deep concern over the ongoing regional escalation and its potential wider implications for peace and stability.
During the conversation, Ishaq Dar emphasized the importance of collective efforts to de-escalate tensions and prevent further instability. He stressed that dialogue, diplomacy, and adherence to international law remain critical for ensuring lasting peace, security, and stability in the region and beyond.
The two foreign ministers also exchanged greetings on the occasion of Eid, reaffirming goodwill and friendly ties between Pakistan and Iraq.
