Rawalpindi, March 25, 2026: The Pakistan Navy has welcomed a warship from China’s People’s Liberation Army Navy for participation in the 4th edition of the bilateral maritime exercise Sea Guardian, scheduled from March 25 to April 2.
According to a statement issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), PLA(N) Ship Daqing was accorded a ceremonial reception upon arrival and escorted into port by Pakistan Navy vessels with traditional zeal.
The Sea Guardian exercise is aimed at strengthening bilateral relations through the exchange of maritime expertise and enhancing interoperability between the two navies, reflecting their shared commitment to regional peace and stability.
The drills will include a range of harbour and sea-phase activities such as subject matter expert exchanges, a seminar for young officers on contemporary issues, gunnery exercises, coordinated patrols, and other maritime security operations.
Officials said the Sea Guardian series underscores the strong strategic partnership between Pakistan and China and is expected to further deepen defence cooperation while contributing to a stable maritime environment in the region.
