Yangon, April 2, 2026: Ms. Aasma Tariq, wife of Pakistan’s ambassador to Myanmar and a qualified Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) expert, attended a World Autism Awareness Day event in Yangon as the Guest of Honor.
The event, organized by the Myanmar Autism Association, marked the global observance of World Autism Awareness Day and brought together advocates, families, and professionals working in the field of autism support and inclusion.
In her address, Ms. Tariq emphasized the importance of raising awareness, fostering inclusion, and ensuring sustained support for individuals with autism and their families. Drawing on her professional experience, she highlighted the need for evidence-based interventions, early support programs, and stronger community engagement.
She also commended the Myanmar Autism Association for its dedicated efforts in promoting autism awareness and supporting affected families, expressing her support for its initiatives, particularly in training and resource-sharing.
The Embassy of Pakistan in Yangon reaffirmed its commitment to supporting initiatives that promote knowledge exchange, capacity building, and enhanced cooperation between Pakistan and Myanmar in social and public health sectors.
