Islamabad, April 2,2026: President of the Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ICCI), Sardar Tahir Mehmood, has said that the Chamber remains the most vibrant and powerful platform of the business community and has always raised its voice for resolving traders’ issues and creating a business-friendly environment not only in the region but across the country. He emphasized that the budget proposals submitted by the Chamber would ultimately benefit the business community nationwide.

He expressed these views while addressing a large delegation of the Traders Welfare Association (TWA) Simli Dam Road, Barakahu, which visited the Chamber under the leadership of its President Raja Zahid Dhaniyal here on Thursday.

The ICCI President assured the visiting traders that their issues would be taken up with the relevant authorities for their prompt resolution so that the traders could conduct their business activities in a more conducive and supportive environment.

Speaking on the occasion, President TWA Barakahu Raja Zahid Dhaniyal appreciated the proactive leadership of the Chamber for representing the concerns of the business community. He highlighted the challenges being faced by traders in the Barakahu area and stressed the need to organize a joint meeting of the elected representatives of the Association with officials of the concerned authorities to find practical solutions to their problems. He particularly drew attention to the issue of encroachments and the losses caused to traders during operations conducted by the CDA under the pretext of removing illegal structures.

Etesham Kiyani, General Secretary of the Association, announced that the traders’ community would always stand shoulder to shoulder with the Chamber’s leadership due to its consistent efforts for the welfare and protection of business interests.

On the occasion, Raja Bilal (Chairman), Arsal Abbasi (Patron-in-Chief), Rizwan Cheennah (Former Executive Member ICCI), Shah Anwar senior ICCI member and others also shared their views and emphasized the need for coordinated efforts to address the issues being faced by traders.
