Beijing, April 2, 2026: Pakistan and China held the 10th round of bilateral consular consultations in Beijing, reviewing a wide range of issues related to visa facilitation, immigration, and the welfare of their nationals.
According to a statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the consultations took place on March 31, with Director General (China) Tariq Wazir leading the Pakistani delegation, while Director General of the Department of Consular Affairs Long Zhao headed the Chinese side.
The two sides reviewed the entire spectrum of consular matters and expressed satisfaction over the steady growth in people-to-people exchanges between Pakistan and China.
Both countries reaffirmed their commitment to further strengthening consular cooperation and enhancing facilitation for each other’s citizens, particularly in areas such as visa processes and protection services.
The consular consultations serve as an institutionalized mechanism between the two countries, aimed at addressing key issues including immigration, legal assistance, and the welfare of nationals residing in each other’s territories.
The latest round reflects the continued expansion of bilateral cooperation and underscores the importance both sides attach to strengthening people-level connectivity alongside broader strategic ties.
