Islamabad, April 3,2026: Romanian Ambassador Mr. Dan Stoenescu marked a special moment of cultural diplomacy and friendship between Romania and Pakistan.
On Friday the ambassador presented the official album and the written score of the first-ever professional choral arrangement of the national anthem of Pakistan – Qaumi Tarana – to Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani, Chairman of the Senate of Pakistan.
This unique artistic project, realized by the National Chamber Choir “Madrigal – Marin Constantin” with the support of the Embassy of Romania in Islamabad, transforms the original orchestral composition into a refined polyphonic choral work for soprano, alto, tenor, and bass.
It preserves the solemnity and spirit of the anthem while offering a new musical dimension that bridges Eastern melodic richness with Western harmonic depth.
The album and the score symbolize more than a musical achievement – they reflect a deep respect for Pakistan’s national identity and a shared commitment to cultural dialogue.
Through this initiative, Romania proudly contributes to celebrating the heritage of Pakistan in a universal artistic language.
The ambassador also-had a substantive exchange with Chairman Gillani on enhancing Romania-Pakistan bilateral relations, with a particular focus on strengthening parliamentary cooperation and expanding economic ties.
We also discussed the regional situation, including developments related to the Middle East crisis, underscoring the importance of dialogue and stability.
The Romanian envoy expressed his thanks to the chairman senate for the warm welcome and appreciation expressed by-him.
This gesture reinforces the strong ties between our countries and highlights the power of culture to bring nations closer together.
