Rawalpindi, April 4, 2026: Admiral Naveed Ashraf, Chief of the Naval Staff (CNS), underscored the importance of a strong, balanced, and technologically advanced navy during the induction ceremony of the second PN MILGEM-class corvette, PNS Khaibar, into the Pakistan Navy fleet.

According to Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR), addressing the ceremony, the Naval Chief highlighted that Pakistan’s strategic location along vital maritime trade and energy corridors necessitates a robust naval force to safeguard national interests and ensure secure Sea Lines of Communications (SLOCs).

He further noted that during “Marka-e-Haq,” the Pakistan Navy maintained a strong operational posture, compelling the Indian Navy to remain within its perceived safe zones. He said the conduct and preparedness of naval operations send a clear message that any attempt to challenge Pakistan’s maritime interests would be met with an appropriate response.

Admiral Ashraf emphasized that the Pakistan Navy is being equipped with state-of-the-art platforms and advanced technologies, enhancing its capability to effectively target critical infrastructure, vulnerabilities, and adversary naval assets.

He described the induction of platforms like PNS Khaibar, along with the forthcoming Hangor-class submarines, as a major milestone in the Navy’s modernization drive, significantly boosting operational flexibility, combat capability, and strategic reach.

Concluding his address, the Naval Chief extended his best wishes to the crew of PNS Khaibar and reaffirmed the Pakistan Navy’s resolve to defend the country’s maritime frontiers and uphold its responsibility as the guardian of sovereign seas.
