Dar, Bahrain FM discuss regional situation, stress dialogue

Islamabad, April 4, 2026: Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar held a telephone conversation with Bahrain’s Foreign Minister Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani to discuss the evolving regional situation.

During the call, both leaders exchanged views on recent developments and underscored the urgent need for de-escalation, emphasizing dialogue and diplomacy as key to ensuring regional peace and stability.

Senator Ishaq Dar highlighted the Pakistan–China five-point initiative aimed at promoting peace in the Middle East and the Gulf region. In response, Foreign Minister Al Zayani appreciated Pakistan’s constructive efforts to advance dialogue and diplomatic engagement.

The two sides also discussed ongoing multilateral efforts, including at the United Nations Security Council, and agreed to remain in close contact on matters of mutual interest.
