Islamabad, April 6, 2026: Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar held a telephone conversation with Japan’s Foreign Minister Toshimitsu Motegi on Monday, during which both leaders discussed the evolving situation in the Middle East and the broader region.
According to a statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the two sides exchanged views on the escalating regional tensions and underscored the urgent need for de-escalation to maintain peace and stability.
During the conversation, Ishaq Dar reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to supporting all efforts aimed at reducing tensions and promoting lasting peace in the region.
Foreign Minister Motegi appreciated Pakistan’s constructive role in facilitating dialogue and diplomatic engagement, recognizing its contributions toward regional peace and stability.
Both leaders agreed to remain in close contact and continue consultations on regional and international developments.
