Doha/Jeddah, April 16, 2026: Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif held a high-level meeting with Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani in Doha on Thursday, emphasizing the importance of dialogue, de-escalation, and international coordination in response to the evolving regional situation.

According to Pakistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the prime minister is on an official visit to Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and Türkiye from April 15 to 18, accompanied by a high-level delegation. The meeting with the Qatari Emir took place shortly after his arrival in Doha, following the conclusion of his visit to Saudi Arabia.

In a statement shared on X, Prime Minister Shehbaz described his interaction with the Qatari leadership as “warm and cordial.” The two leaders discussed the evolving situation in the Gulf region and underscored the need for peaceful dialogue and diplomatic engagement to ensure regional stability.

The prime minister reiterated Pakistan’s strong condemnation of attacks targeting Qatar and other regional countries, expressing full solidarity with the Qatari people. They also stressed the importance of maintaining smooth global energy supply chains and strengthening international coordination to safeguard regional peace.
