Yangon, April 17, 2026: Pakistan’s Ambassador to Myanmar, Tariq Karim, joined the vibrant celebrations of the Thingyan Water Festival in Nay Pyi Taw, marking the arrival of the Myanmar New Year.
The festivities, attended by senior local officials, including the country’s foreign minister, as well as members of the diplomatic community, reflected Myanmar’s rich cultural heritage and the spirit of renewal and harmony associated with Thingyan.
In his message, Ambassador Karim conveyed warm greetings and best wishes to the people of Myanmar for a joyful Thingyan and a prosperous New Year.
The participation of the Pakistani envoy in the celebrations highlighted the enduring bonds of friendship between Pakistan and Myanmar, while underscoring the importance of cultural exchange and people-to-people connections in strengthening bilateral relations.
