Gujrat, April 17, 2026: The Al-Khidmat Foundation organized a ceremony in Gujrat for the distribution of Qarz-e-Hasna (interest-free loan) cheques among deserving individuals, aimed at supporting small businesses and promoting self-employment.
The event was attended by Ameer Jamaat-e-Islami Punjab, Dr. Tariq Saleem, who served as the chief guest. Prominent attendees also included Chaudhry Ansar Mahmood, Khalid Mahmood Saqib, and Chaudhry Naeem Shahbaz.
Addressing the gathering, Dr. Tariq Saleem said that Al-Khidmat Foundation continues to lead in welfare initiatives while also taking practical steps to generate employment opportunities. He highlighted that the Qarz-e-Hasna scheme provides interest-free financial assistance to small entrepreneurs, enabling them to start or expand businesses and achieve financial independence.
He described the organization as one of Pakistan’s leading non-profits, playing a vital role in empowering underprivileged communities through various initiatives, particularly Islamic microfinance programs. According to him, thousands of families have attained self-reliance by launching small businesses under these schemes.
Dr. Tariq Saleem also noted that a significant number of beneficiaries are women, who have been supported in improving their economic conditions and contributing to household incomes. He emphasized that Al-Khidmat’s microfinance model is rooted in principles of Islamic finance, ensuring assistance is provided without interest in a socially responsible manner.
He concluded by stressing that such initiatives are crucial for uplifting economically vulnerable segments of society and promoting dignity, self-reliance, and sustainable livelihoods.
