Karachi, April 24, 2026: Mohammad Amir and Faheem Ashraf have each been fined 10 per cent of their match fees following a heated on-field exchange during Match 34 of Pakistan Super League Season 11 at the National Bank Stadium on Thursday.

The two players were found guilty of Level 1 breaches of the PSL Code of Conduct and accepted the sanctions imposed by match officials.

Amir was charged under Article 2.5 for using language, actions, or gestures that were deemed disparaging and potentially provocative towards a batter after dismissal.

Faheem Ashraf was penalised under Article 2.21 for bringing the game into disrepute.

The charges were levelled by on-field umpires Alex Wharf and Faisal Khan Aafreedi, and were upheld by match referee Sir Richard Richardson.

The incident occurred on the third delivery of the 17th over when Amir bowled a sharp slower bouncer, inducing an upper-cut attempt from Faheem that resulted in an edge to wicketkeeper Mohammad Rizwan.

Following the dismissal, Amir gestured animatedly towards Faheem and appeared to signal him back to the pavilion. Faheem responded angrily, walking towards the bowler and raising his bat in protest, leading to a brief confrontation on the field.

The situation escalated momentarily before intervention from players Asif Afridi and Saad Masood helped defuse tensions.

The match came during a difficult season for Rawalpindi franchise, who remain bottom of the table with just one win from nine matches. They have accumulated two points with a net run rate of -1.330.

The team is scheduled to play their final league-stage fixture against Hyderabad Kingsmen on April 26.

The disciplinary action underscores the PSL’s continued enforcement of conduct standards as the tournament moves into its decisive final phase.
