Lahore, May 1, 2026: Former champions Islamabad United won the toss and elected to bowl first against tournament debutants Hyderabad Kingsmen in Eliminator 2 of the Pakistan Super League 11 at the Gaddafi Stadium on Friday.
The two teams have met twice in the ongoing tournament, with both sides winning one match each.
Their most recent encounter took place last week, when Islamabad United registered a dominant eight-wicket victory with 80 balls to spare after bowling out the Kingsmen for just 80 runs.
The high-stakes clash comes with both teams carrying contrasting momentum into the contest.
Hyderabad Kingsmen have suffered only one defeat in their last five completed matches — coincidentally against Islamabad United — while also entering the game on the back of consecutive victories.
The debutants secured their place in Eliminator 2 after defeating Multan Sultans by eight wickets in Eliminator 1.
Prior to that, the Kingsmen stunned fellow debutants RawalPindiz with a massive 108-run victory, a result that helped them qualify for the playoffs ahead of defending champions Lahore Qalandars on net run rate.
Islamabad United, meanwhile, are coming into the knockout fixture after suffering a heavy 70-run defeat against table-toppers Peshawar Zalmi in the Qualifier earlier this week.
