Islamabad, May 2, 2026: A three-day Tablighi Ijtema is underway in Islamabad, with participation of around 250,000 people expected. Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi visited Jamia Abul Qasim Tablighi Markaz in Islamabad.
Elders from the Raiwind and Rawalpindi Tablighi centers, including Yusuf Qureshi, Abdul Rehman Qureshi, and Deputy In-charge Shura Dr. Saleem, welcomed Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi upon his arrival at the Tablighi Markaz.
The Interior Minister held a meeting with the senior leadership of the Islamabad Tablighi Markaz. He thanked the organizers for postponing the congregation during the Islamabad talks. He said he pays tribute to the positive role played by the organizers of the Tablighi Ijtema.
The Interior Minister was briefed on security and other arrangements for the congregation. He stated that an effective security and traffic management plan had been devised for the event. He also appreciated the role of the Tablighi elders in promoting religious harmony and national unity. He announced that the organizers of the Tablighi Ijtema would be invited to deliver a special lecture at Police Lines.
Special prayers were offered on the occasion for peace, stability, and prosperity in the country. The Tablighi Ijtema will conclude on Sunday morning after a special collective prayer.
Chief Commissioner Islamabad, Inspector General of Islamabad Police, Deputy Commissioner, DIG Operations, Additional Deputy Commissioner General, and other officials were also present on the occasion.
