Islamabad, May 7, 2026: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Thursday received a telephone call from Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Qatar Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani, during which the two leaders discussed the regional situation and ongoing diplomatic efforts for peace and stability in the Middle East.
According to the Prime Minister’s Office Media Wing, the conversation was held in a warm and cordial atmosphere, with both leaders reaffirming their commitment to supporting efforts aimed at ensuring lasting peace in the region.
During the discussion, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif recalled his recent visit to Doha on April 16 and said his meetings with the Amir of Qatar Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani and other Qatari leaders had proved helpful in building consensus on peace initiatives.
The prime minister said the people of Pakistan were looking forward to the visit of the Amir of Qatar at an early convenient date, expressing confidence that the visit would further strengthen bilateral ties and deepen cooperation between the two countries.
The Qatari prime minister appreciated Pakistan’s continued diplomatic efforts for promoting regional peace and stability and assured support for initiatives spearheaded by Pakistan aimed at ensuring security in the Middle East.
Both leaders agreed to maintain close coordination and regular communication on matters of mutual interest and regional importance.
