Islamabad, May 9, 2026: Shehbaz Sharif on Saturday paid rich tribute to the armed forces and the people of Pakistan on the anniversary of Marka-e-Haq and Operation Bunyan-un-Marsoos, praising their courage, unity, and sacrifices in defending the country’s sovereignty and national dignity.
In a message issued on the occasion, the prime minister thanked Allah Almighty and honoured the “extraordinary courage, unwavering resolve, and supreme sacrifices” of Pakistan’s armed forces and citizens.
He said that in the face of aggression, the nation remained united in purpose, disciplined in action, and steadfast in faith.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif stated that Operation Bunyan-un-Marsoos reflected the exceptional professionalism, operational excellence, and defensive strength of the armed forces, who defended the country with “remarkable precision, valour, and determination.”
The prime minister particularly praised Syed Asim Munir for his “resolute and visionary leadership,” saying his commitment to Pakistan’s defence inspired the nation and strengthened the morale and resolve of the armed forces during a defining period in the country’s history.
Describing Marka-e-Haq as a lasting symbol of national unity and resilience, the prime minister said the occasion represented the collective determination of the Pakistani nation to safeguard the country at all costs.
He also paid tribute to the sacrifices of soldiers, officers, martyrs, and veterans, stating that their bravery and selflessness continued to strengthen the foundations of Pakistan’s security and freedom.
“The grateful nation stands proud of every soldier, officer, martyr, and veteran who upheld the honour of Pakistan with courage and selflessness,” he said.
Reaffirming Pakistan’s commitment to peace, the prime minister stated that the country remained firmly committed to regional stability while remaining fully prepared to defend its sovereignty, territorial integrity, and national honour against any threat.
The message concluded with the slogan: “Pakistan Zindabad.”
