Pakistan, Netherlands explore cooperation in sustainable lighting and smart technologies

The Hague, May 11, 2026: Pakistan’s Ambassador to the Netherlands, Syed Haider Shah, met with Mario Giordano to discuss avenues for bilateral cooperation in sustainable lighting, energy efficiency, smart technologies, manufacturing, and climate-friendly solutions.

The meeting focused on strengthening economic and technological collaboration between Pakistan and the Netherlands, particularly in areas related to innovation and sustainable development.

Officials highlighted Pakistan’s growing potential as an attractive destination for investment and innovation, citing the country’s strategic geographic location, youthful skilled workforce, investment incentives, and expanding energy and infrastructure sectors.

During the discussions, Signify, formerly known as Philips Lighting, expressed strong interest in exploring investment and partnership opportunities in Pakistan.

Both sides reaffirmed their shared commitment to promoting innovation, sustainability, and inclusive economic growth through enhanced cooperation between Pakistan and the Netherlands.
