Islamabad, May 11, 2026: Speaker of the National Assembly Ayaz Sadiq on Sunday paid tribute to Pakistan’s armed forces on the first anniversary of Marka-e-Haq – Operation Bunyan-un-Marsoos, describing it as a symbol of national unity, courage, and resilience.
In a statement issued by the National Assembly of Pakistan, the speaker said the nation was commemorating the anniversary with enthusiasm, pride, and renewed determination.
He remarked that May 10 would remain a historic day in Pakistan’s history when, according to him, the “nefarious designs” of the enemy were thwarted and the armed forces delivered a decisive response.
Ayaz Sadiq stated that when Pakistan came under attack, the entire nation stood united alongside the armed forces under the leadership of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces Asim Munir.
The NA speaker praised the operational performance of the Pakistan Air Force, claiming it established aerial superiority during the conflict. He paid tribute to Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmad Babar Sidhu and PAF personnel for their professionalism and courage.
He also commended the role of the Pakistan Navy, stating that it demonstrated remarkable professional capability during the operation. He congratulated Chief of Naval Staff Naveed Ashraf and naval personnel for their services.
Ayaz Sadiq further said that the enemy’s “false propaganda” had been exposed before the international community and alleged that the Pahalgam incident was a “false flag operation” aimed at undermining regional peace.
Reaffirming Pakistan’s commitment to peace, the speaker said Islamabad’s recent diplomatic efforts amid tensions in the Gulf region reflected its dedication to regional and global stability.
He reiterated Pakistan’s support for the people of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) and stressed that durable peace in South Asia depended on a just resolution of the Kashmir dispute in line with the aspirations of the Kashmiri people.
The NA speaker also criticized India’s reported attempts to suspend the Indus Waters Treaty, terming them unilateral and illegal, and stated that Pakistan reserved the right to respond appropriately.
Calling on the international parliamentary community to take notice of what he described as India’s “expansionist mindset,” Ayaz Sadiq warned that such actions posed a threat to regional and international peace.
Paying tribute to martyrs, he said the nation would always remember with honour and gratitude those who sacrificed their lives in defense of Pakistan’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.
The speaker concluded by urging the nation to offer prayers of gratitude to Allah Almighty for what he termed a historic victory and for enhancing the country’s dignity and prestige.
