Islamabad, May 15, 2026: Chairman Senate Yousaf Raza Gilani on Friday said the government is working closely with traders, investors, and the business community to promote trade, investment, and industrial growth across the country, while Pakistan’s political and military leadership continues to play a proactive role in promoting peace and stability at regional and global levels.

He expressed these views while addressing the inauguration ceremony of the 33rd branch of Imtiaz Group in Sector E-11, Golra Sharif, Islamabad.

The event was attended by former Chief Minister and Governor of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Mehtab Abbasi, former Deputy Speaker National Assembly Murtaza Javed Abbasi, former Managing Director of Pakistan Bait-ul-Mal Zamurd Khan, former senator Tanveer Ahmed Khan, members of parliament, business leaders, civil society representatives, and citizens.

Chairman Senate Gilani praised Chairman Imtiaz Group Imtiaz Hussain, his family, and the management for promoting a modern and organized retail system in Pakistan. He said institutions such as Imtiaz Group contribute significantly to strengthening the national economy while providing quality products to consumers at affordable prices.

He noted that the opening of the world-class superstore in Islamabad reflects the growing capability of Pakistani businesses to compete internationally. He added that Imtiaz Group, with 33 branches operating in 14 cities, is generating employment opportunities for thousands of people, which is encouraging for the country’s economy, local industry, and commercial sector.

Speaking to media representatives, Gilani said the government remains in continuous contact with traders, industrialists, investors, and chambers of commerce to address the challenges faced by the business community. He added that concerns of traders and investors are also being discussed in parliamentary committees, where practical measures are being considered for their resolution.

Referring to the international situation, the chairman senate said the world is facing numerous challenges due to rising tensions among countries, but Pakistan’s political and military leadership is playing an effective role in promoting peace and stability at national, regional, and international levels.

He emphasized that Pakistan has consistently advocated dialogue, diplomacy, and peaceful coexistence, and continues to play a constructive role in reducing global tensions.

Chairman Senate Gilani also commended Pakistan’s political and military leadership for helping reduce tensions between the United States and Iran and facilitating dialogue between the two sides. He said Pakistan played a commendable role in helping avert the threat of a third world war, reflecting the visionary leadership and statesmanship of the country’s leadership.

Reaffirming the government’s commitment to working with the private sector, Gilani said efforts would continue to provide relief to the public, create employment opportunities, and improve economic conditions in the country.

At the conclusion of the ceremony, the chairman senate visited the newly inaugurated branch and appreciated the arrangements, expressing best wishes for the continued success of Imtiaz Group. He said all stakeholders should work collectively to maximize employment opportunities and provide greater relief to the people.
