Makkah/Islamabad, May 18,2026: Federal Minister for Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony, Sardar Muhammad Yousaf, conducted a detailed inspection of the Pakistan Hajj Medical Mission’s central clinic established in the Azizia district of Makkah.
During his visit, the Minister reviewed operations across various departments, including the male and female OPDs, pharmacy, laboratory, dental unit, ultrasound, X-ray, and physiotherapy sections. He interacted with elderly, male, and female pilgrims undergoing treatment to inquire about the quality of care, with the pilgrims expressing their complete satisfaction with the available services.
On this occasion, medical authorities comprising Colonel Dr. Tauqeer, Lieutenant Colonel Dr. Hamza Mansur, and Lieutenant Colonel Dr. Jawad Aslam briefed the Federal Minister. They highlighted that all Pakistani dispensaries and the central clinic operational in Saudi Arabia are functioning strictly in compliance with the Saudi Ministry of Health regulations and international medical standards.
According to the briefing, a total of 36 dispensaries and clinics have been established across Makkah, Medinah, and Jeddah to provide round-the-clock healthcare services to the pilgrims. To date, free medical aid and medicines have been provided to an aggregate of 61,413 outpatient department (OPD) patients.
Furthermore, the medical mission has successfully conducted 874 laboratory tests, 1,009 dental procedures, 347 X-rays, 171 ultrasounds, 129 ECGs, and 745 minor surgeries and dressing procedures. Out of 30 critically ill patients referred to specialized Saudi hospitals, 27 have fully recovered and been discharged.
Speaking to the media, Federal Minister Sardar Muhammad Yousaf highly commended the arrangements made by the Hajj Medical Mission. He emphasized that all modern diagnostic and treatment facilities including free consultations, advanced laboratory tests, and top-tier medicines worth millions of rupees shipped from Pakistan are being provided under one roof completely free of charge.
The Minister noted that the expansive building acquired for the medical mission this year is outstanding, offering optimized space for all clinical departments alongside suitable residential accommodation for the deployed doctors. He added that a dedicated ambulance service remains active 24/7 to transport patients.
Concluding his remarks, the Minister observed that while it is natural for ailing pilgrims to express grievances due to physical distress, the utmost dedication, care, and professionalism shown by the doctors and medical staff ultimately guarantee full patient satisfaction.
