Quetta, May 19, 2026: Prime Minister of Pakistan Shehbaz Sharif on Tuesday visited the Command and Staff College, Quetta, where he addressed faculty members and student officers, praising the professionalism, operational preparedness, and sacrifices of the Pakistan Armed Forces in safeguarding national sovereignty and ensuring peace and stability.

The Prime Minister paid rich tribute to the martyrs (Shuhada) and commended the unwavering commitment of the armed forces in the defence of the motherland.

Referring to “Marka-e-Haq,” Shehbaz Sharif paid tribute to the Pakistan Armed Forces for what he described as a historic victory under the leadership of Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir.

He highlighted Pakistan’s responsible conduct and escalation control in response to what he termed India’s unprovoked aggression, stating that Pakistan’s “mature, prudent, and just stance” had also been acknowledged by the international community.

Reaffirming Pakistan’s resolve, the prime minister said the country would continue to defend its sovereignty and territorial integrity against any misadventure at all costs.

He further stated that Operation Ghazab-lil-Haq was ongoing with full resolve to protect the lives and property of civilians against what he described as terrorist proxies based in Afghanistan, and to target terrorist hideouts and support infrastructure.

The Prime Minister also reiterated Pakistan’s unwavering support for the people of Jammu and Kashmir and Palestine.

While acknowledging the presence of foreign cadets at the institution, Shehbaz Sharif underscored the importance of military diplomacy and international cooperation, describing Pakistan as a “net regional stabiliser” contributing to peace and stability in the region and beyond.

He was accompanied by the federal ministers for defence, interior, and information, as well as the Chief Minister of Balochistan.

Earlier, upon arrival at the Command and Staff College, Quetta, the Prime Minister was received by Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir.
