Ishaq Dar chairs SDGs achievement programme meeting, reviews progress

Islamabad, May 22, 2026: Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar chaired a Steering Committee meeting of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) Achievement Programme (SAP), where the committee reviewed the programme’s progress and expressed satisfaction over its implementation.

According to an official statement, the committee also directed that any savings from previous years should be utilized within the same sector and province to ensure continuity and effective use of development resources.

During the meeting, Ishaq Dar emphasized the importance of involving local communities in identifying infrastructure development schemes so that SAP funds are utilized in the best interest of the people of Pakistan.

The meeting was attended by the federal minister for Inter-Provincial Coordination, the minister for parliamentary affairs, Shazia Marri, Special Assistant to the Prime Minister Tariq Bajwa, the cabinet secretary, and senior officials from relevant ministries.
