Beijing, May 25,2026: Chairman Senate Standing Committee on National Health Services Amir Waliuddin Chishti addressed a ceremony marking the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Pakistan and China, emphasizing the importance of expanding bilateral cooperation for inclusive socio-economic development.

The event was attended by Chinese Vice Minister Liu Haixing, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, along with Senators Agha Shahzeb Durrani, Anusha Rehman, Asad Qasim, Saleem Mandviwala, and Kamran Murtaza, besides diplomats, parliamentarians, and distinguished guests.

According to a statement issued by the Senate Secretariat’s Media Directorate, Senator Chishti attended the ceremony on the invitation of the Government of China.

In his address, Senator Chishti described Pakistan-China relations as an enduring and time-tested friendship founded on mutual trust, shared vision, and unwavering support. He welcomed proposals presented by the Chinese vice minister, particularly those aimed at strengthening political cooperation and ensuring that the benefits of bilateral collaboration reach all regions and communities of Pakistan.

The senator underscored the importance of the second phase of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), stressing the need to prioritize industrialization, manufacturing, technology transfer, agricultural modernization, tourism, fisheries, and other sectors directly benefiting the people.

He noted that enhanced political and economic cooperation between the two countries would help transform regional connectivity into sustainable prosperity and create new opportunities for future generations.

Senator Chishti also highlighted the significance of political party exchanges and people-to-people contacts in deepening bilateral relations. Reaffirming Pakistan’s commitment to its strategic partnership with China, he expressed confidence that stronger economic cooperation and inclusive development would further strengthen the longstanding bonds of friendship between the two nations.
