Rawalpindi, May 26,2026: Mitchell Marsh has been ruled out of Australia national cricket team’s upcoming three-match ODI series against Pakistan national cricket team due to an ankle injury, with wicketkeeper-batter Josh Inglis set to captain the side in his absence.
According to Cricket Australia, Marsh will remain in Perth for treatment and further medical assessment after also missing the final match of the Indian Premier League season while representing Lucknow Super Giants.
Cricket Australia stated that a decision regarding Marsh’s availability for Australia’s upcoming white-ball tour of Bangladesh would be made later.
The three-match ODI series between Pakistan and Australia is scheduled from May 30 to June 4.
The opening match will be played at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium, while the remaining two fixtures will take place at Gaddafi Stadium.
Australia are also expected to hand an international debut to emerging fast bowler Ollie Peake as the visitors reshape their squad following Marsh’s withdrawal.
This marks Australia’s first ODI bilateral tour of Pakistan since March-April 2022, when Pakistan won the series 2-1 on home soil.
Earlier this year, Australia toured Pakistan for a three-match T20I series in January-February, during which the hosts completed a 3-0 clean sweep at Lahore’s Gaddafi Stadium.
