Islamabad, May 26,2026: Speaker National Assembly Ayaz Sadiq on Tuesday extended heartfelt greetings to the people of Pakistan and the Muslim Ummah on the occasion of Eid al-Adha, describing the festival as a symbol of sacrifice, unity, and complete submission to the will of Allah Almighty.
In his Eid message, the speaker said Eid-ul-Azha commemorates the unparalleled sacrifice of Hazrat Ibrahim (AS) and Hazrat Ismail (AS), embodying unwavering obedience to the command of Allah.
He said the occasion imparts timeless lessons of selflessness, patience, perseverance, and service to humanity.
“The true essence of Eid-ul-Azha lies in sacrificing personal desires, ego, and individual interests for collective welfare and the pleasure of Allah Almighty,” Ayaz Sadiq stated.
He added that the festival also promotes compassion, tolerance, brotherhood, and care for underprivileged segments of society. The NA speaker urged affluent members of society to share their happiness with the poor and needy and extend full support to deserving families during Eid celebrations.
He stressed that unity, national cohesion, and mutual respect were essential for a strong, stable, and prosperous Pakistan. Ayaz Sadiq also called attention to the plight of people in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir and Palestine, saying they continue to face grave human rights violations and are deprived of the freedom to practice their religious obligations freely.
He urged the international community to take effective notice of the situation and called for an immediate end to atrocities in the two regions.
The speaker prayed for lasting peace, prosperity, stability, and progress in Pakistan and expressed hope that citizens would contribute positively towards national development through unity and harmony.
Meanwhile, Deputy Speaker National Assembly Syed Ghulam Mustafa Shah also extended Eid greetings, saying the festival conveys a universal message of sacrifice, brotherhood, compassion, and unity. He emphasised the need to promote tolerance, empathy, and service to humanity for the establishment of a peaceful, strong, and welfare-oriented society.
