Makkah/Islamabad, May 30,2026: In a significant international recognition for Pakistan’s Hajj management, Director General of the Pakistan Hajj Mission, Abdul Wahab Soomro, has been awarded the prestigious ‘Labbaytum Excellence Award’ for the second consecutive year in acknowledgment of his outstanding leadership and services during Hajj 2026.
The award was presented by Dr. Tawfiq bin Fawzan Al-Rabiah, Minister of Hajj and Umrah of Saudi Arabia, during the concluding Hajj season ceremony, Hafl Khatm-ul-Hajj 1447 AH, held in Makkah.
According to official sources, the prestigious distinction is conferred by the Saudi Ministry of Hajj and Umrah on heads of international Hajj missions who demonstrate exceptional administrative excellence, innovative leadership, operational discipline, and effective use of modern digital solutions in serving pilgrims, known as Dhuyuf-ur-Rahman (Guests of Allah).
Speaking after receiving the award, Soomro dedicated the honor to the entire Pakistan Hajj Mission team.
“This international accolade is the result of the tireless, round-the-clock efforts of the entire Pakistan Hajj Mission. We are deeply grateful to Almighty Allah for enabling us to serve the pilgrims with dedication and excellence,” he said.
The award is being viewed as a major achievement for Pakistan’s Hajj administration and reflects the country’s continued efforts to improve services and facilities for pilgrims.
The Ministry of Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony, along with diplomatic and social circles, congratulated Abdul Wahab Soomro on receiving the distinguished honor, describing it as a historic milestone that highlights Pakistan’s growing reputation for efficient and effective Hajj management on the international stage.
