Islamabad, May 31, 2026: At least four people were killed and five others sustained critical injuries after a speeding car crashed into multiple vehicles and motorcycles at Bhara Kahu’s Athal Chowk area on Saturday evening, police and rescue officials said.

According to rescue sources, the accident occurred when a recklessly driven car rammed into two cars and several motorcycles, causing multiple casualties on the spot and leaving several others seriously injured.

Police and rescue teams rushed to the scene immediately after receiving reports of the crash. The deceased and injured were shifted to a nearby hospital, where doctors described the condition of the injured victims as critical.

Authorities said the driver of the vehicle fled the scene after abandoning the car. Police have launched a search operation to trace and arrest the suspect.

Preliminary investigations suggest that excessive speed and reckless driving were the primary causes of the accident.

Police officials said efforts were underway to identify and apprehend the driver, adding that legal action would be taken once the suspect is taken into custody.

The tragic incident has once again highlighted concerns over reckless driving and road safety in the federal capital, where speeding-related accidents continue to claim lives and cause serious injuries.
